Kentucky football fell to the Tennessee Volunteers, 28-18, on Saturday night and watched their record also take a fall as the Wildcats moved to 3-6 on the season.

As if their backs weren’t already up against the wall, Kentucky must now win-out to make a bowl game appearance and keep their eight-year streak alive.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, they have a matchup at Texas (Nov 23) following their game vs. Murray State (Nov 16) and will end the season at home against Louisville.

Kentucky will almost certainly be underdogs in the Texas game as well as the Louisville game, with the Murray State game almost an assured win for the Wildcats.

The problem for head coach Mark Stoops and his team continues to be an inconsistent offense, a trend that has now gone on for a few years in Lexington.

Kentucky doesn’t seem to have an answer at quarterback and their skill-position players are suffering due to that along with below-average play across the offensive line.

Considering this team was hyped up to be one of the better groups of the Stoops era, it’s quite disappointing that they may not even reach five wins in 2024.

The Wildcats are off this weekend before they host Murray State on the 16th.
