Molly Cavinder’s first state cross country meet saw her come in 191st place on Saturday.
The University Heights Academy seventh grader qualified for the state meet in her first varsity race at region. She completed the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park’s paddock course in 30:56.
She was one of over two dozen seventh graders to compete in the race and had the 24th fastest time.
Cavinder was the first Lady Blazer runner to qualify for the state meet since 2018.
