Heritage Christian Academy had a pair of runners make their state meet debut on Saturday in the Class 1A boys race.
Freshman Aaron Hensley finished in 116th place at 19:41 on the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park. He just missed a personal best time by two seconds.
Hensley’s time was just the fourth to break the 20-minute barrier in the young history of the HCA cross country program and was just four seconds off the school record.
In the girls’ race, freshman Genna Calhoun crossed the finish line in 167th place with a time of 27:07 – her fourth fastest time of the year.
