
Fresh off of a region championship, the Dawson Springs Lady Panthers finished in 9th place at the Class 1A State Cross Country meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington on Saturday.
Dawson Springs totaled 283 points to finish nine points behind eighth-place Green County, the two highest–placed public schools in the girls’ race.
Freshman Baylee Swatzell led the Lady Panthers across the finish line in 27th place with a time of 21:41, two seconds ahead of teammate and region champion Olivia Hines who was 29th.
Ashtyn Swatzell came in 54th place covering the 3.1 mile course in 22:43.
Seventh grader Alieah Cook was 91st in 24 minutes flat, while Alyssa Allison was 143rd in 25:56 and Hailey Oldham had a 171st place finish in a time of 27:20.
Madeline Oldham rounded out the runners for Dawson Springs with a 199th-place finish.
