
The Henderson County girls’ swim team opened the season with a sixth-place finish at Saturday’s Rick Cohn Invitational at Hopkinsville High School.
Melina Shulz was second in the 500-yard free (5:58.72) and second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.62)
Riley Smith was fifth in the 500-yard free (8:06.66) and 10th in the 200-yard free (2:54.20)
Avery Thomson came in seventh place in the 200-yard free (2:33.61) and seventh in the 100-yard free (1:07.25)
Sariah Coots was seventh in the 200-yard IM (2:56.34) and ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:27.63).
Lyana Coots was eighth in the 200-yard IM in 2:59.63 and 11th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:19.76).
Piper Thompson was 20th in the 50-yard free (34.77) and 22nd in the 100-yard free (1:23.85)
Aubrie Woolfolk was 20th in the 100-yard free (1:19.49) and 21st in the 50-yard free (35.10)
Violet Garrison was 33rd in the 50-yard free (41.10)
Irah Plummer was 33rd in the 100-yard free (1:44.60) and 36th in the 50-yard free (43.89)
The 200-yard medley relay team of Avery Thompson, Lyana Coots, Melina Schulz, and Sariah Coots came in fourth place in 2:17.98. The same group was sixth in the 400-yard free relay in 4:28.60
The 200-yard free relay team of Violet Garrison, Piper Thompson, Riley Smith, and Aubrie Woolfolk was 10th in 2:34.69. They also finished 10th in the 400-yard free relay in 5:59.
