
The Madisonville-North Hopkins girls’ swim team brought home some hardware from their first competition of the season.
The Lady Maroons finished in second place at Sasturday’s Rick Cohn Invitational hosted by Hopkinsville High School.
The Lady Maroons had one winner, 10 individual finishes in the top five, and a pair of relay wins.
Emma Tagg won the 100-yard free in 1:00.64. She was third in the 50-yard free (26.69)
Addison Howard was second in the 200-yard IM (2:41.20) and fifth in the 100-yard free (1:11.37)
Ellen Eveland was third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:15.27) and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:21.89)
Adison Melton was fourth in the 200-yard free (2:22.18) and fourth in the 500-yard free (6:25.49)
Audrey Tate was fourth in the 100-yard free (1:05.30) and was fifth in the 50-yard free (28.63)
The 200-yard free relay team of Addison Howard, Adison Melton, Audrey Tate, and Emma Tagg won the event in 1:53.68. The same squad also won the 400-yard free relay in 4:12.80.
Madisonville accumulated 64 points to finish eight behind first place Muhlenberg County.
