While Travis Perry, Brady Shoulders, and Jack Reddick were not on the court any longer for the Lyon County Lyons, things still got off to a pretty good start in the Lyons’ first preseason scrimmage Saturday at the CFSB Center in Murray. The Lyons got big games from Bray Kirk and Isaac Defew and turned back a late-game rally from McCracken County to pick up a 46-41 scrimmage win.
Lyon County led 12-8 after the opening quarter. That lead grew to 20-10 early in the second only to see the Mustangs cut it back to 24-22 at the half.
Leading 28-26 in the third, Lyon County closed the quarter on an 8-2 run to go up 36-28, Early in the 4th quarter, the Lyons’ pushed the lead out to 14 points at 42-28. McCracken would make one last run at the Lyons and get to within one point at 42-41, but that would be the end of the rally as Lyon County would take the five-point win.
