
Caldwell County’s girls went 2-2 in scrimmage basketball games at Crittenden County on Saturday, but the Lady Tigers also had two players go down with injuries during the preseason contests.
The Lady Tigers picked up wins over Hancock County and Union County but suffered setback to Hopkins County Central and Crittenden County.
However, in the game against Hopkins Central, Ke’Darriah Thompson was forced out with a shoulder injury while Nyla Sykes later left the contest with a knee injury.
Caldwell had started the day with a 33-15 victory over Hancock County.
Sykes topped the scoresheet in that game with eight points while KaMyiah Clark had seven and Med Thomas scored six. Thompson, Morgan Aikins and Lilly Gobin each had four points for the Lady Tigers.
Caldwell then suffered a 34-16 setback to Hopkins Central.
Sykes and Aikins each had four points while Clark, A.J. McCoy, Davani Williams and Jada Alexander tallied two points apiece.
The Lady Tigers lost to host Crittenden 42-23.
Aikins led Caldwell with 13 points in that contest. Med Thomas added four points while Clark, McCoy and Benashka Thomas scored two points apiece.
The Lady Tigers finished the day with a 21-18 win over Union County by outscoring the Bravettes 17-11 in the second half.
Gobin had seven points in the win while Med Thomas and McCoy each had five. Clark and Aikins each scored two points.
Caldwell’s girls will play their final scrimmage on Wednesday afternoon at Graves County.
The Lady Tigers will open the regular season at home on Dec. 2 against Crittenden County.
