Caldwell County grad Derrin Boyd had his biggest game yet for the College of Charleston as the Cougars downed visiting Northern Kentucky 79-64 Wednesday afternoon.
Boyd tallied a game-high 22 points to help Charleston improve to 5-2 on the season.
It was the fourth straight start for the former Tiger standout, who was 5-for-7 from 3-point range and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.
Boyd also grabbed six rebounds and had one steal in 22 minutes.
The big game gives Boyd 50 points in five outings at Charleston. He is one of five Cougars scoring in double figures at 10 points a contest.
Boyd is a 2019 Caldwell County graduate.
He scored 1,911 points as a Tiger.
His college point total is now 1,728, which also includes two years at Georgetown College and two seasons at Lipscomb University in Nashville.
Charleston returns home after Thanksgiving to face Tusculum on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
