As has been the case in recent seasons, numbers are going to be lean for the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons for the 2024-2025 season. However, the good news is that several of the players on this year’s roster saw significant time on the court last season.

The Lady Falcons, who won four games in 2023-2024, look to have the chance to make some more progress under second-year head coach Tynisa Young. With the numbers situation on this year’s roster, staying out of four trouble and avoiding injuries will be big keys for Fort Campbell.

The schedule is a bit more manageable than it has been at some times in years past and that will help a team that is not only lean in numbers but still fairly young as well. Some early season wins would do wonders for the confidence level of this team.

The Lady Falcons are led by senior Rosella Rajj. Rajj is one of the best athletes in the 2nd Region and is a player that Fort Campbell will be looking to for a double-double type performance every time she is on the court. She led the team in scoring last year at 15.6 points per game. That average was more than half of what the Lady Falcons scored on average per contest. She also pulled down 6.5 rebounds a game.

Fort Campbell’s leading rebounder last season was Madison Newingham. She pulled down 7.8 boards a game and averaged 2.9 points. Newingham provides the Lady Falcons some strength down in the lane. If she can increase her scoring down inside, it would significantly boost the chances of Fort Campbell improving on last season’s record.

Sania Crawford, Raven Williams, and Saniyah Bell all saw action in at least 19 games for Fort Campbell in 2023-2024. The three combined to score 33 points for the season. All three will be counted upon to improve on that total for this season.

Players carrying over from season to season on the Fort Campbell roster is always a concern and an issue and can make it very difficult to build continuity in a program. This year is no different. There were 10 players on last year’s roster that were juniors or younger that are not on the roster this season for the Lady Falcons.

Player Under the Radar – Junior Saniyah Bell saw action in 20 games last season for the Lady Falcons. She averaged 1.1 points and 1.6 rebounds per game for Fort Campbell. Bell will have the opportunity to increase those numbers this season and will need to in order to help the Lady Falcons have another scoring option on the floor.

Big Games – There are the 8th District games against Hopkinsville, Christian County, and Heritage Christian. The Lady Falcons will also have a pair of early season games against Caldwell County. Fort Campbell will make a January 21st trip up to Mortons Gap to take on the 2nd Region runner-up from last season, Hopkins County Central.

Outlook – Even with the lean roster, the possibility is there for the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons to improve on last season. If they can find a way to add to their offensive totals that would be a big first step. The early schedule will give Fort Campbell the chance to build a little confidence and that would be a huge plus as well. In 2021-2022, the Lady Falcons won one game. In 2022-2023, that total doubled to two. Then, in 2023-2024, that number doubled again to four. Doubling that number again this season would be another good step and would not be out of the realm of possibility.
