
The Caldwell County Lady Tiger wrestling team has gotten its season off to a strong start.
Caldwell’s girls went 3-0 on Saturday while capturing first place in the Union County Quad Duals.
That comes on the heels of a second-place showing Wednesday in the Beast B4 the Feast tournament at McCracken County.
At Union, the Lady Tigers defeated North Posey (Indiana) 48-24 before beating Union County 42-30.
Caldwell finished the day by defeating Evansville Reitz 48-24.
Alyvia Barnwell (114 pounds) and Virginia Stewart (235) picked up wins by pin against North Posey.
Against Union, Lexi Gobin (138) won by pin.
In the win over Reitz, Sophie Parrish (100), Gobin (138), Hailey Scott (165) and Stewart (235) all claimed wins by pin.
At McCracken, only a 36-36 tie with Clarksville Rossview kept the Lady Tigers from capturing top honors.
The Lady Tigers defeated McCracken 48-6 and downed the Rossview ‘B’ team 54-18. Caldwell beat Mt. Vernon (Illinois) 40-30 and took down South Warren 54-18.
The Lady Tigers will next see dual action at Henderson County on Tuesday.
