
Down three starters because of injuries, Caldwell County’s offense got a boost from senior Morgan Aikins on Tuesday.
Aikins tallied a game-high 18 points as the Lady Tigers pulled away from Fort Campbell 55-24 at the CAB gym in Princeton.
Caldwell has now won its last nine matchups with Fort Campbell and 22 of the last 23 going back to 1989. The Lady Falcons picked up a win in February of 2012.
The Lady Tigers lead all-time 32-5.
Caldwell never trailed in the latest matchup.
The Lady Tigers scored the first five points of the night on the way to a 12-2 run to open the contest.
Caldwell (2-1) led 12-5 after one quarter, then held the Lady Falcons to just one field goal in the second period while building a 24-8 halftime advantage.

Aikins had 11 points in the second half to help the Lady Tigers nail down the victory.
Caldwell’s lead grew to 40-14 late in the third quarter.
Fort Campbell (0-2) got only as close as 40-19 early in the final frame.
The Lady Tigers took their biggest lead at 53-21 late in the contest — flirting with the 35-point mercy rule for a running clock but coming up just short of that mark.
Tink Clark and Med Thomas each had eight points for the Lady Tigers. Grace Watson added six points and eight rebounds while Alaiyaa Shearer grabbed 12 rebounds to go with two points. Aikins added eight boards to her 18 points.
Caldwell held a 59-28 advantage on the glass.
Fort Campbell got eight points and seven rebounds from Rosella Rajj and seven points from Kyra Benson.

Caldwell’s girls will next face Hopkinsville Thursday night in the Holiday Classic at Hopkinsville High School.
