
The Todd County Central boys’ basketball team is still searching for its first win of the season after a 42-33 loss on Friday to visiting Jo Byrns, TN.
Tay Shemwell provided all the offense for the Rebels in the first quarter, but they trailed 9-5 after the opening frame.
Jo Byrns’ Adam Cox scored seven points in the second quarter to finish with 11 in the first half and give the Red Devils a three-point halftime advantage.
Cox added four points in the third quarter to help Jo Byrns to a 30-23 lead, and the Red Devils overcame 10 points from Todd Central’s John Ross Cardwell to hold on for a nine-point victory.
Todd Central slipped to 0-4 ahead of a visit from Monroe County on Saturday. The Rebels have lost the last two meetings in the series with the 1-3 Falcons.
