
Trigg County was unable to overcome a nearly 12-minute stretch without a field goal in the first half on Thursday as they fell to Stewart County, Tenn. 52-24 at Wildcat Gym.
The Lady Rebels took advantage by outscoring Trigg 22-2 during that run to flip a 13-6 first-quarter advantage into a 26-8 lead at halftime.
Trigg County managed just three more shots than turnovers in the contest as Stewart County scored 30 points off 28 Trigg mistakes. That also resulted in the Lady Rebels getting up 26 more shots than Trigg County.
Reese Bush led the Lady Wildcats with 10 points and six rebounds while Calli Jones came off the bench to score six points and grab six rebounds.
Faith Dacus had 18 points to lead Stewart County. She also had nine steals. Angie Nelson contributed 15 points and seven rebounds.
Stewart County improved to 7-0 all-time against Trigg County in a series that dates back to 2001.
Trigg County continues its brutal early-season schedule on Friday as they travel to Mortons Gap to play Hopkins County Central, who knocked off Madisonville 56-35 on Friday.
