Put the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons in the win column for the first time this season. The Lady Falcons built a big lead and then held off a 4th quarter rally to take a 48-42 win over Cloverport.

With Saniyah Bell and Kyra Benson leading the way, Fort Campbell took a 14-6 lead after the opening quarter.

Benson caught fire from behind the arc in the second quarter for the Lady Falcons. She knocked down four 3s in the second as the Lady Falcons ran their lead out to 31-17 at the half. Benson scored 14 points in the quarter.

The two teams played even in the third quarter, as the Lady Falcons took a 42-28 lead into the final eight minutes.

Cloverport cranked up the defense in the fourth and held the Lady Falcons to just two field goals. Still, the Lady Falcons did enough to hold off a rally that saw the Lady Aces close to within six at the end of the game.

7th grader Kyra Benson was the leading scorer for the Lady Falcons with 21 points. A’mari Grimsley added 7 points. Saniyah Bell and Rosella Rajj finished with 5 points each. Rajj also had 10 rebounds for the afternoon.

Cloverport was paced by Alexis Hurst with 17 points. Campbell Moore also hit double figures with 10.

Fort Campbell (1-3) will host the Russellville Lady Panthers Monday night.
