
The Caldwell County Lady Tiger wrestling team had a big day in Marion, Illinois, on Saturday.
Not only did the Lady Tigers place third as a team out of 26 schools in the Marion Wildcat Girls Tournament, they had two individual champions.
Sophie Parrish went 4-0 while winning the 100-pound weight class and Alyvia Barnwell was 3-0 to claim the title at 110.
In addition, Kamyra Dickey was third at 105, Virginia Stewart finished third at 190 and Payten Simmons finished fourth at 170.
Fort Campbell won the team event with 129 points. Host Marion was runner-up with 108. Caldwell was third with 104 points, just half a point ahead of fourth-place McCracken County.
After traveling to Illinois, the Lady Tigers will head to Tennessee next Saturday. Caldwell’s girls will wrestle at Rossview High School next weekend.
