
The Madisonville Lady Maroons put a stop to a three-game skid with a 55-40 win over Rossview, Tenn. on Saturday at the Ken-Tenn Classic at Murray High School.
Riley Sword scored 10 of her game-high 19 points in the decisive third quarter as the Lady Maroons turned a 23-22 halftime advantage into a 40-31 lead. Sword was named the game’s MVP for her efforts.
Taylor Nelson scored eight of her 13 points in the fourth quarter as Madisonville kept the Lady Hawks at bay.
Madisonville helped themselves by knocking down 14 of 18 free throws.
SaNya Carney added nine points and Bryanne Johnson chipped in seven.
Imani Evans scored seven points in the first quarter for Rossview, who has dropped two of three after a 6-0 start.
Madisonville will host Greenwood on Monday and travel to Muhlenberg County on Tuesday.
