After seeing a halftime lead disintegrate over the course of a low-scoring third quarter on Tuesday at Bowling Green, the Christian County Lady Colonels tightened the defensive screws and found enough offense to pull out a 41-40 victory.

Ne’Vaeh Day and D’Ebony Anderson combined for eight first-quarter points to help the Lady Colonels to an early seven-point advantage.  Day kept the hot hand with six more points in the second, and Anaysia Bagwell chipped in four to send Christian County to a 23-15 lead at halftime.

However, the scoring touch deserted the Lady Colonels after the break, and Bowling Green’s Katy Smiley and Maddie Davenport teamed up for 11 points in the frame.  Christian County was held to only three baskets to trail 33-29 with a quarter to play.

After an uncharacteristically quiet three quarters, Bagwell got going with the game on the line.  She scored seven in the fourth to double her total and the Lady Colonels limited Bowling Green to only seven points to pull off the comeback win.

Day finished with 16 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Colonels.  Bagwell totaled 13 points, and Anderson had a monster night on the boards with 15 rebounds.

Christian County improved to 4-3 ahead of a visit from Todd County Central on Thursday.  The teams last met in 2017 and the Lady Rebels last win in the series came all the way back in 1998.
