
The tough start to the season continued on Tuesday for the Christian County boys’ basketball team with an 82-53 loss on the road at Bowling Green.
Kam Williams had five points in the first quarter for the Colonels but the Purples raced out to a 23-13 advantage and never looked back.
Bowling Green continued to pull away with 25 points in the second to lead by 27 at the half. Winston Stafford connected on a pair of three-pointers, but the Colonels could only muster eight points in the second frame.
Rahsean Stevenson scored six points in the third to reach double figures for the Colonels. Zyon Wharton added nine in the fourth to finish with 11.
Bowling Green bounced back from its first loss of the season to improve to 4-1.
Christian County slipped to 0-7 ahead of a trip to Rowan County this weekend to play in the 2024 Stockyards Bank Challenge. The Colonels will face the host Vikings and Breathitt County on Friday with games to follow on Saturday.
