One has already had a legendary career, the other one is on her way to a historic career.

Senior setter Emma Grome and sophomore outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye were both named All-Americans by the 2024 American Volleyball Coaches’ Association  Wednesday.

DeLeye, a finalist for the AVCA National Player of the Year that will be announced Thursday, was named to the first team and is the 20th Kentucky player to earn All-American status. She averaged 4.87 kills, 1.64 digs and 0.51 aces per set this season that ended with UK’s loss in the Elite Eight.

Grome was voted to the second team. It was the fourth straight year Grome has been named an All-American. She averaged 11.30 assists per set this year and surpassed UK assistant coach Madison Lilley as the all-time career assists leader at Kentucky.

The only other SEC player on the first team was Kennedy Martin of Florida.  SEC players joining Grome on the second team, joining Nina Cajic (Tennessee), Logan Lednicky (Texas A&M) and Madisen Skinner (Texas), a member of UK’s 2020 national championship team.
