
Make it three wins in the last four games for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers. Hopkinsville got 18 points from Lashanti Wilson Thursday night as the Lady Tigers broke open a close game at the half and took a 65-40 win on their home floor over Muhlenberg County.
Wilson and TaRia Sharber had good starts in the game as the Lady Tigers and the Lady Mustangs played to a 12-12 tie after the first eight minutes.
The Hopkinsville defense held Muhlenberg County to just three field goals in the second quarter as the Lady Tigers were able to take a 28-22 lead into the break.
The defense continued to be the story as the second half got started. Hopkinsville limited the Lady Mustangs to just two field goals in the third quarter as the Lady Tigers pulled out to a 44-30 lead.
Led by Wilson, the Hopkinsville offense put 21 points on the board in the final quarter and pulled away to the 25 point win.
In addition to Lashanti Wilson’s 18 points, Lee Lee Love had 14 for Hopkinsville. Alicia Davis and TaRia Sharber just missed hitting double figures with 9 points each.
Muhlenberg County was led by Taliana Groves with 11 points. Izzy Wilkins hit double figures with 10 points.
Hopkinsville (4-3) will travel to Murray to the CFSB Center Saturday to take on Calloway County in The Hardwood Classic.
