
A big second quarter proved to be the difference on Friday night in Christian County’s 61-51 victory over Bullitt East, the Lady C0lonels’ third win in a row to improve to 6-3.
Christian County’s Ne’Vaeh Day passed 1,000 points for her career with five in the first quarter, but the Lady Colonels trailed 13-12 early on.
Anaysia Bagwell led a second-quarter surge with 11 points and Lazarie Daniel added five to help Christian County open up a 10-point halftime advantage. The Lady Colonels held the Lady Chargers to only seven points in the frame to turn the game around.
Bagwell knocked down a pair of three-pointers in the third to extend the Lady Colonel advantage, and they held on for the win despite being outscored 19-16 in the fourth quarter.
Bagwell finished with a game-high 22 points to earn Player of the Game honors. Day dominated on the boards with 19 rebounds and scored 12 points, and Lazarie Daniel added five points in the final frame to total 14.
Anna Tinelli led Bullitt East with 16 points, and Mollie Johnston added 14.
The Lady Colonels have a week off before travelling to Allen County-Scottsville next Friday to face Portland, TN in the Lady Invitational of the South.
