The largest high school swim meet ever held in Danville will be Saturday at the new Champions Hall, Centre College’s new swimming facility.
The Title Town Candy Cane Classic hosted by Boyle County High School and Danville High School will start at 10 a.m. and Boyle coach Crystal Ellis expects it to end around 3:30 p.m.
Around 500 swimmers and 35 divers from about 20 teams across the state will participate in the event.

“Some of the Louisville schools are only bringing divers,” Ellis said. “We will have swimming and diving going on at the same time.

Schools scheduled to compete with Danville and Boyle are Assumption, Ballard, Bardstown, Christian Education Consortium, Elizabethtown, Fort Knox, Franklin County, Garrard County, Great Crossing, Highlands, Kettering Fairmont, Lincoln County, Marion County, Meade County, Nelson County, North Oldham, Oldham County, Russell County, Scott County, South Oldham, St. Xavier, Thomas Nelson, Western Hills, Whitley County and Woodford County.
Admission to the meet is $10 and tickets need to be purchased through GoFan.
