The Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons’ perfect start to the 2024-2025 season came to an abrupt end Friday night. The Maroon traveled north of the Ohio and fell to Evansville Bosse 84-57.
Bosse’s Marrius Harris had a big night in the win for the Bulldogs, finishing with 22 points.
The Bulldogs his six three on their way to building a 16-point halftime lead. Bosse hit five more threes in the second half.
The loss ended a seven-game winning streak to start the season for the Maroons. The 57 points was the fewest Madisonville had scored since a 39-38 win over Evangel in the Marshall County Hoopfest.
Kanyon Johnson was the Maroons’ leading scorer with 12 points. Landen Smith also hit double figures with 10, all coming in the first half.
The Maroons will look to get back on the right track Saturday night when they are back in Evansville to take on Reitz.
