
Yon Kinzer’s bucket in the paint off an inbounds pass with 2.2 seconds left lifted Smyrna, Tenn. to a 70-69 win over Fort Campbell in the seventh-place game in the United Southern Bank’s Battle at the Border in Elkton.
Kinzer’s late-game heroics overshadowed a monster game from Fort Campbell’s Tyreek Anthony, who scored a career-high 45 points. Anthony did everything he could to keep the Falcons in the game late, scoring 18 points in the fourth quarter.
Anthony was 19 of 30 from the floor and 4 of 5 at the free throw line. He also had nine rebounds.
It was a close game throughout but the Bulldogs hit 17 of 23 free throws while the Falcons managed just 5 of 16 at the charity stripe.
Kinzer’s 25 points led Smyrna, who lost games in the tourney to Union County (60-54) and Russellville (79-64).

Fort Campbell opened play on Saturday with a 67-46 loss to Montgomery Central, Tenn.
The Falcons fell behind early 17-8 and trailed 37-15 at halftime.
Tyreek Anthony led the Falcons with 21 points, and Israel Dillard added 13 points.
The Falcons shot 38% from the field while Montgomery Central hit 52% and outrebounded Fort Campbell 30-20.
Christian Fox scored 17 of his game-high 26 points in the first half.
