Evansville Central ‘Bears’ Past UHA

A tough trip north of the Ohio River Saturday night for the University Heights Academy Blazers. Evansville Central got out to an early lead and cruised on to a 77-42 win over the Blazers.

Central knocked down four threes in the opening quarter as the Bears took a 24-9 lead after one.

The Blazers were able to slow down the Central long-range attack during the second quarter, allowing just one three. But, the Blazer offense could not find a way to chew into the lead and Central went to the half up 40-21.

Central came out of the locker room and dropped the hammer, putting up 31 points in the third quarter and running the lead out to 71-32. Zureyan Moore had 12 poins in the quarter for Central.

From there it was a matter of playing it out to the final score. Tylin George had a big fourth quarter for the Blazers with 8 points.

For the night, Tylin George had 28 points to lead the Blazers. Elijah Walton finished with 8.

Central was led by Landyn Richardson with 21 points. Zureyan Moore ended up with 20 points.

UHA (1-6) will get back to action Friday taking on Warren Central in the Henderson County Colonel Basketball Classic.
