Playing their third game in 24 hours missing a starter and with essentially a five-man rotation was a tough challenge for the Dawson Springs Panthers as they took on Grayson County in the final game of the Commonwealth Rolled Products tournament at the Owensboro Sportscenter. The Cougars broke open a close game at the half and ran out to a 75-54 win over the Panthers.

The Panthers played the game without normal starter Jaydon Plunkette. Dawson Springs had played earlier in the day against McLean County after a Friday night game against the Owensboro Knights, and the Panthers may have gotten a little leg weary in the second half.

Grayson County led 13-7 after one and the two teams played even in the second quarter with the Cougars taking a 25-19 lead into the break.

Led by Brody Armstrong and Jack Logsdon, the Cougars came roaring out to start the second half. Grayson County hung 29 points on the scoreboard and ran the lead out to 54-34 going into the final quarter.

The Panther got their offense revved up in the fourth but could not make a late charge at the Cougars as Grayson County took the 21-point win.

Montgomery Johnston and Rex Blue scored 15 each for the Panthers. Easton Bourland added 12.

Grayson County was paced by Jack Logsdon, who led all players in the game with 30 points. Brody Armstrong finished with 21 points.

Dawson Springs (4-4) heads to Northern Kentucky on Thursday to take on Bellevue.
