After advancing through the first round of the St. Mary Christmas Classic when Crittenden County withdrew due to illness issues, the Hopkins County Central Storm took to the court Saturday in the holiday event against the host Vikings.
St. Mary, after a win over South Fulton on Thursday, advanced to the championship game of its own tournament with a 69-50 win over the Storm.
St. Mary got 22 points from Luke Sims in the win over Hopkins County Central. Sims was one of four players to reach double figures.
The win improved the Vikings to 7-1 with their only loss coming on the road at Paducah Tilghman.
For Hopkins County Central, the loss was the second straight. The Storm (3-4) will now take on 7th District rival Caldwell County in the 3rd place game Monday afternoon.
