Three Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons have been honored on the 2024 Courier-Journal All-State Football Team, which was announced this week.
Senior Kanyon Johnson was selected Second Team All-State as a punter. Johnson was also the quarterback for the Maroons, and accounted for over 2,300 total yards and 24 touchdowns.
Markezz Hightower, a junior, was named Honorable Mention at running back. Hightower rushed for 1,604 yards and 20 TDs.
Sophomore Kadence Price was Honorable Mention as an offensive lineman. He helped anchor the line for an offense that averaged nearly 37 points a game.
Earlier this month, Johnson, Hightower and Price were all named First Team on the annual All-WKC squad.
Madisonville went 7-4 this past season. However, the Maroons lost to eventual Class 5A state champion Bowling Green in the first round of the playoffs.
