
Warren Central used a first-half blitz to build a 30-point halftime lead and cruise past University Heights Academy 83-42 on Friday in the Faupel Automotive/Chevrolet GMC Ford Colonel Classic at Henderson County High School.
The Dragons raced out to a 25-8 lead behind eight points from Robert McAfee and continued to stretch the advantage with six points in the second quarter from Gavin Carter to take a commanding 30-point lead at the halftime break.
Elijah Walton scored 10 points in the second half for the Blazers and Tylin George added eight in the fourth to finish with a game-high 18, but it was too little, too late.
McAfee led the Dragons with 16 points, followed by Jarek Kirk with 13, Carter with 11, and Johan Pratt with 10.
Walton joined George in double figures for the Blazers with 17. UHA will be back on the court on Saturday to face Kirkwood, TN.
Warren Central improved to 8-1 with its fourth straight victory ahead of a matchup with Male on Saturday.
