Riley Sword’s shot with 2 seconds to go was the game winner for the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons Friday in their win over Butler County in the Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic. The win was the fourth in the last five games for the Lady Maroons.
Sword’s game-winner capped off a 4th quarter rally that saw the Lady Maroons enter the final quarter trailing 48-43.
Madisonville-North Hopkins led 19-13 after one and took a 33-28 lead into the locker room at the half.
Karrington Hunt brought the Bearettes back in the third quarter, scoring 11 points as Butler County took the 5 point lead into the final eight minutes.
Taylor Nelson and Riley Sword helped lead the 4th quarter rally that took the Lady Maroons to the win.
Riley Sword ended up with 20 points. Taylor Nelson added 16 points. SaNya Carney scored 12 and Macy Wright hit for 10 points.
Butler County was paced by Karrington Hunt with 19 points. Ann Marie Skaggs had 18 and Ava Wilson finished with 16 points.
Madisonville-North Hopkins (6-4) will take on Union County and Murray on Saturday.
