Caldwell’s Girls Rally Past Carlisle for Hoops Classic Win

Caldwell County’s girls shook off a slow start following an early wake-up call.

Playing the 11 a.m. game Saturday in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic, the Lady Tigers trailed Carlisle County 19-13 after one quarter and 25-23 at halftime.

However, a big second half carried Caldwell to a 55-38 triumph over the 1st Region school.

Caldwell (4-5) grabbed the lead quickly after the intermission and built a 42-30 advantage after three quarters.

The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Comets 32-13 in the second half to improve to 4-5 on the season.

Sophomore Tink Clark had 14 points to lead all scorers while eighth grader Lilly Gobin added 10 points and six rebounds for the Lady Tigers. Morgan Aikins and Med Thomas each had eight points.

Sophomore Macee Hogancamp had 12 points and 12 boards for Carlisle. Gracyn Edging added 11 points.

Caldwell’s girls will now turn their focus to 7th District action next week.

Caldwell will host Dawson Springs Friday night for a girls and boys doubleheader.
