South Panola Runs Past Crittenden in Hoops Classic

South Panola jumped on Crittenden County early and went on to claim a 69-36 decision Saturday at the West Kentucky Hoops Classic in Princeton.

The Mississippi school led 17-4 after one quarter and 38-8 at halftime.

Crittenden caught fire in the third period offensively and had a 24-point frame, but the Tigers of South Panola still led 67-32 going to the fourth period.

Cameren Griffin had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead South Panola. Tre’darius Hines had 18 points and Dematric Houston had 12 for the Tigers, who are now 5-12.

Drake Young had 12 points for Crittenden’s young squad. Colby LaRue added nine points.

South Panola finished the Hoops Classic 1-1 after a loss to Shades Valley (Alabama) on Friday.

The Rockets (0-8) played just once in the Hoops Classic.
