Lady Storm Roll to Win in 3rd Place Game at Caveland Classic

A day after a tough loss to Marshall County, the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm rebounded with a strong defensive performance. The Lady Storm limited Muhlenberg County to just 16 points over the final three quarters as Hopkins County Central took a 65-30 win in the 3rd place game of the Rafferty’s/Double Dogs Caveland Classic at Edmonson County High School.

Hopkins Central trailed 14-12 after the first quarter but then hit the Lady Mustangs with a 23-2 second quarter to take a 35-16 lead at the half. Seven different players scored for Central during the quarter.

The defensive shutdown continued in the third quarter as the Lady Storm held Muhlenberg County to just two field goals and expanded the lead out to 53-22.

From there it was just a matter of the final score as Hopkins County Central rolled on out to the 35 point win.

The Lady Storm had 11 players score in the game led by Kenzleigh Harrison with 10 points. Calajia Mason added 9 points. Tyah White and Bri Dulin finished with 8 points each.

Muhlenberg County got 13 points from Taylor Wilkins.

Hopkins County Central moves to 7-5 for the year. The Lady Storm is now off until January 11 when they go on the road to Hopkinsville.
