The Christian County Lady Colonels have become known for their defensive pressure and when they crank it up on ‘high’, it causes most teams they play plenty of problems. Just asked the Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots. The Lady Colonels forced ACS into 25 turnovers as they pulled away in the second half to take a 64-54 win in the 3rd place game of the 2024 Lady Invitational of the South on the Lady Patriots’ home floor.

Christian County got monster games from both NeVaeh Day and Anaysia Bagwell, who combined to score 53 points for the Lady Colonels.

The Lady Colonels were a bit icy from the field to open the game, shooting just 21.9 percent in the first half. Still, they were right in the thick of things at the half.

Christian County trailed 14-12 after one and was still down just two at 23-21 at the half.

The Lady Colonels warmed up a bit in the second half, and that combined with their suffocating defense told the story of the game. Christian County put up 23 points in the third quarter and took a 44-37 lead. The Lady Colonels then kept the door closed on any ACS comeback and went on to take the 10-point win.

A big number in the game was shot attempts. Christian County put up 67 shots, while the Lady Patriots managed just 47 from the field. The Lady Colonels also had an advantage at the 3-point line, knocking down 7 shots and giving up only two made threes for the game.

Anaysia Bagwell had her best game of the tournament finishing with 28 points. NeVaeh Day finished with 25 points and 6 rebounds. DeEbony Anderson added 5 points for Christian County.

Aubrey Naiser was the leading scorer for ACS with 18 points. Deborah Patrick had 15 points and Riley Roy added 10.
