
Hopkinsville only had three wrestlers place at Saturday’s Christian County Invitational and still came away with an 11th-place finish thanks to a pair of first-place finishes.
Juan Cannon won the 120-pound class, winning his first two matches by fall. He defeated Daviess County’s Jah Patterson 9-2 in the semifinals. He then won a 13-4 major decision over Greenwood’s Thomas Sang to win the title.
Jaylin Littleton won the 165-pound class with a pin of Fort Campbell’s Adyn Laird in the championship match. He won his three matches by spending a total of 7 minutes on the mat in recording three pins.
Alden Marshall finished in fourth place in the 285-pound class. He won two of his first three matches before falling to Daviess County’s Elijah Roberts by fall in the third-place match.
Andrew Kraft won a match in the 144-pound class before falling in the consolation round.
McHale Manning-Lewis also won a match. It came in the 150-pound class.
Hopkinsville totaled 75 points to finish eight points ahead of 12th place Greenwood and two points behind 10th place South Warren.
