
Trigg County finished in eighth place out of 17 schools that scored at Saturday’s Christian County Invitational at Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium.
Cooper Adams took third place in the 120-pound class. He won five of his six matches and got some retribution for his only loss of the day. Adams lost to Daviess County’s Jah Patterson by a 7-3 decision in the second round.
Adams then battled back to win three matches – two by fall and a third by a 15-0 score. In the third-place match, Adams met Patterson again and won by a 5-4 decision.
Ethan Crabtree came in fourth place in the 138-pound class. He finished 4-2, winning three straight matches before falling to Fort Campbell’s Eithan Cassell in the third-place match by fall.
Sean Borum finished in fourth place in the 190-pound class. He finished with a 4-2 record and lost by a 12-4 decision to Calloway County’s Lane Parrish in the third-place match.
Zyereon Mayes finished in sixth place in the 144-pound class. He won three matches and lost three matches.
Gavin Kline finished in sixth place in the 132-pound class. His record was 2-3 for the day.
Trigg County totaled 82 points and finished two points ahead of ninth-place Calloway County and 21 points behind seventh-place McCracken County.
Christian County won the team title with 211 points – 21 points more than second-place Fort Campbell.
