If we are in Pigeon Forge, the one show most of my family always votes to see is the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud and this year was no different.

Of course, we were not alone as the cast and crew have been performing four shows daily the last week and all have had massive crowds.

My daughter-in-law, Christy Vaught, and 12-year-old grandson, Colby, probably enjoy the show more than anyone so enjoy what she thought about the food and overall show:

“I’ve been flocking to Pigeon Forge for years and always make it a point to attend the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud. Despite seeing the show multiple times, I’ve never been disappointed — it’s a real hoot. The combination of singing, dancing, slapstick comedy, and diving is unbeatable, with the dancing and clogging being the highlight of the show.

“The Christmas shows are my favorite, offering non-stop entertainment from start to finish. The performers, cashiers, waiters and waitresses all stay in character, showcasing their talent by performing up to four shows a day — they’re the cream of the crop.

“The food is also excellent, with the creamy soup being a standout — it’s a real soup-er star. The fried chicken, potatoes, corn on the cob, BBQ, and slaw are all delicious, and the chocolate Oreo pudding is a great way to end the meal — it’s the icing on the cake.

“If you haven’t seen the Dinner Feud, you’re missing out. Be prepared for a fun-filled evening of singing, dancing, laughing, and good country cooking. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop and pick up some of Ma McCoy’s cream soup mix to take home — it’s a real recipe for success.

“A side note: Interacting with the employees and cast members makes the experience even more enjoyable, as they seem to appreciate the engagement and it gets them excited for the next show. The crew is exceptional.”

Our party of 10 was lucky enough to have Olga as our waitress. She could not have been more efficient at making sure we had plenty of food and drinks even though we attended the 8 p.m. show — the fourth show of the day.

Olga is a native of Russia who came to the area in 2007 on a student visa to attend college. She liked the area so much that she stayed. She’s married, has a 10-year-old son and “appreciates” getting to work at the Dinner Feud where she can interact with so many folks.

“I enjoy what I do and I appreciate being able to live in this area,” she said.

Even though she still has a distinct Russian accent, she considers this area home and likes to see folks leaving the show with smiles on their faces.

“It’s just fun to see people enjoy the show,” she said.
