Logan Brown Wins 138 Title at Tates Creek Invitational

Logan Brown won an individual championship at 138 pounds and is still undefeated on the mat this season following action Saturday at the Tates Creek Invitational in Lexington.

Brown (32-0) went 4-0 while winning his weight class.

That helped Caldwell County finish fifth out of 19 teams in the tournament.

Donovan Rogers turned in a runner-up showing at 144 for Caldwell. He won his first four matches before falling in the finals.

Ethan Klidzejs was third at 106, going 4-1 on the day with his only loss in the semifinal round.

Justin Klidzejs was fourth at 126, going 3-2. Elijha Kirby was fourth at 132 with a 3-2 day. Bradley Asher placed fourth at 157, winning five straight matches after dropping his opener before falling in the third-place match.

Corbin took the team title with 244 points, followed by LaRue County (204), Central Hardin (181), McCreary Central (145) and Caldwell County (138.5).

The Tiger matmen are scheduled to compete twice this week.

They will go to Trigg County on Thursday for that school’s Senior Night event. On Saturday, they will travel to Hendersonville, Tennessee, for the annual Commando Crush individual tournament.
