Graves Girls Race Past Hoptown to Extend Winning Run

The Graves County girls’ basketball team left the court victorious for the tenth time in a row after Tuesday’s 74-41 victory over hosts Hopkinsville.

Looking for some momentum ahead of an 8th-District showdown with Christian County on Thursday, the Lady Tigers instead suffered a third-straight defeat to slip to 4-6.

Six Lady Eagles combined to knock down 10 of 18 three-point attempts, including four in the opening quarter on the way to a 26-3 advantage.

Elle Kemp and Addison Widleski combined for 10 first-quarter points, and Ginger Martin added four to help Graves County build the lead.

Taria Sharber and Dominique Allensworth each scored four points in the second quarter for the Lady Tigers, but Graves continued to stretch the margin for a 40-13 halftime score.

LeeLee Love scored 12 of her 13 points in the third quarter and was the only Lady Tiger to reach double figures.

Kailee Winfrey led Graves with 11 points followed by Kemp, Martin, and Hannah Glisson with 10 each.

The Lady Eagles improved to 13-2, with one of those losses coming at the hands of Christian County in mid-December.
