HCA’s Leek Leads Four 2nd Region Players in State Scoring Leaders

The 2nd Region is well represented on the first boys’ basketball scoring leaders list of the season. The list was released Monday by the KHSAA.

Four players from the 2nd Region are listed among the Top 50 scorers in the state. Three of them coming from the 8th District.

Heritage Christian’s Jason Leek is the top scorer in the region at 32.4 points per game. That places him second in the entire state.

Not far behind Leek is University Heights Academy’s Tylin George. George is ranked fourth in the state at 29.2 points per contest.

Fort Campbell’s Tyreek Anthony is off to a flying start this season and is averaging 23.1 points, which places him 22nd on the state scoring leaders list.

Lyon County’s Bray Kirk is the fourth player from the 2nd Region to be on the list. Kirk is averaging 21.2 points a game. That number places him 44th in the state in scoring.

Kentucky’s leading scorer is Braxton Keathley, of Prestonsburg. Keathly is averaging 32.9 points per game.
