First Half Blitz Carries Caldwell County Into All A Region Semifinals

The Caldwell County Lady Tigers used a 26-0 first half run to defeat Fort Campbell 60-19, and advance to the semifinals of the 2nd Region All A Classic on Wednesday.

Seven players scored for Caldwell County as part of a 28-point first quarter when their run began. They stretched a 12-3 lead to 36-3 before Saniyah Bell hit a 3-pointer for the Lady Falcons’ first points of the second quarter.

KeDarriah Thompson scored 10 of her 14 points in the first half. She also pulled down six rebounds and handed out four assists as Caldwell did a good job with their inside-outside game.

Med Thomas hit a trio of three-pointers and scored 10 points. She also had four rebounds and three assists.

Brylee Butts scored nine first half points and Audrey McCoy came off the bench to score six points.

Tink Clark had four points for Caldwell County and added four assists and four steals.

Fort Campbell got five points from Kyndal Bradley and four each from Trinity Fox and A’mari Grimsley.

Caldwell County shot 48% from the field and outrebounded the Lady Falcons 33-15. The win was the 10th straight win for Caldwell County in the series.

Wednesday’s win, coupled with last Friday’s 67-16 win over Dawson Springs, marked the first time in over 27 years the Lady Tigers held consecutive opponents to less than 20 points.

The Lady Tigers will continue their bid for their first All A region championship in 15 years when they play Lyon County Thursday night at 6 o’clock at Crittenden County.
