Before Conlee Lindsey signed her letter of intent to play golf at Northern Kentucky University on Wednesday, she took time to thank those who helped her reach the goal of playing at the collegiate level.
She thanked her parents for “spending countless hours, time, effort, and money” to help her achieve her goal.
She thanked her grandparents for supporting her “every step of the way.”
Conlee also thanked her coach Brandon Grace and swing coach Mitchell Moore for their countless hours in improving her game.
The University Heights Academy senior is the second of three Lindsey sisters to play golf at UHA and Conlee says they both have helped shape her moving forward.
She thanked older sister Rheagan for the competitiveness they shared on the course, even crediting her for being “cut-throat.”
Conlee also thanked little sister Campbell for “endlessly supporting and watching her play for hours and hours.”
But in the end, it was Conlee’s game that made Wednesday’s signing event happen.
She was named First-Team All-Region honors by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association, making four appearances at the state tournament and recording a career-best 45th-place finish as a senior.
She finished in fifth place at the state first round and was third at the region meet – her third straight top-five finish at region.
Conlee won a third straight All A Classic region title in 2024 and finished eighth at the All A State Tourney.
As a junior, she finished in third place at the All A Classic State Tournament.
In addition to her work ethic on display for all to see, she also demonstrated the character necessary to be a successful golfer and human being.
Conlee finished in third place last fall at the Christian County Invitational but signed for the wrong score, only realizing it after she received her award. She self-reported the error, which resulted in her disqualification. It also denied her All-State points which ultimately kept her from being named Second Team All-State.
She not only takes a booming drive and two career holes-in-one with her college but also her good judgment and character.
Northern Kentucky University is an NCAA Division I school in the Cincinnati area that will allow her a chance to intern with several college and professional teams as pursues her education in business or sports management.
Conlee got a leg up in that field last summer as an intern for the Hoptown Hoppers summer baseball team.
