Once again Vince Marrow’s Ohio connections have paid off for Kentucky.

South Dakota edge rusher Mi’Quise Grace committed to Kentucky Sunday while turning down offers from Georgia, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State — all schools he also visited. The Cincinnati native  has two years of eligibility remaining.

Kentucky’s defense needs help and should get it from Grace, who was the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2024 when he had 64 tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss and 9.5 sacks — he even returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown. He had started just one game in 2023 with 5.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss in 13 games.

Marrow recruited Grace and his  brother, Mi’Quan,  out of high school. Grace grew up with current UK running back Jamarion Wilcox.

Grace is considered the No. 11 edge rusher in the transfer portal.

Georgia actually got the final visit but Grace turned down coach Kirby Smart and said yes to Marrow, Mark Stoops and Brad White.

The 6-4, 255-pound pass rusher tied for 16th in the FCS in sacks and 10th in TFLs last year while earning FCS All-American Honors. South Dakota advanced to the FCS Semifinals before falling to Montana State.

Grace is the highest-rated incoming transfer for Kentucky ranking ahead of defensive lineman David Gusta of Washington State.

Kentucky also has transfer commitments from defensive linemen/edge rushers Jaden Williams (Wyoming), Sam Greene (USC), Landyn Watson (Marshall) and Kameron Olds (Kent State).
