Lady Tigers Stop Skid With Win Over Tilghman

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers put an end to their four-game losing skid Monday night. In a game where both teams spent significant time at the line, the Lady Tigers came away with a 71-65 win over Paducah Tilghman.

The two teams combined to shoot 63 free throws in the game. The Lady Tigers finished the night 15 of 28 at the line while the Lady Blue Tornado stayed in the game by going 25 of 35 from the stripe.

A balanced effort on offense for Hopkinsville as five Lady Tigers hit double figures. Alicia Davis led the way with 19 points. She also had five assists and four steals.

Lashanti Wilson finished with 14 points. Freshman Dominique Allensworth scored 13 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Lee Lee Love ended up with 11 points and Laelah Watkins scored 10 points. Love also added 7 rebounds to her totals.

Paducah Tilghman got 20 from Hailyn Hughes. MaKeyah Carrothers and Myiesha Smith scored 18 points each.

Hopkinsville improves to 5-7 with the win. The Lady Tigers are set to get back to action Saturday afternoon when they host Hopkins County Central.
