Cold Shooting Costs Lady Falcons in Loss to Montgomery Central

A cold-shooting night kept the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons from picking up their second straight win Thursday night. The Lady Falcons hit on just 15 of 15 from the field as they dropped a 59-46 decision to Montgomery Central.

The Lady Falcons made just two of eleven shots in the opening quarter but trailed only 8-7. Their defensive effort limited Montgomery Central to just three field goals in the first eight minutes. Rosella Rajj scored all seven points for the Lady Falcons in the quarter.

Montgomery Central started to get a little breathing room in the second quarter, pulling out to a 24-16 halftime lead. For the half, Fort Campbell was 5 of 26 from the field while the Lady Indians were 10 of 26.

A’mari Grimsley helped to keep the Lady Falcons in range during the third quarter, scoring nine points. Still, Montgomery Central was able to nudge the lead out to 43-31 after three.

Led by the play of Kat Vidovic, who scored 14 points in the final quarter, Montgomery Central was able to turn back any comeback attempt by the Lady Falcons in the final quarter and come away with the 13-point win.

Fort Campbell was led by A’mari Grimsely with 16 points. Rosella Rajj added 15 points. Kyra Benson scored 6.

Kat Vidovic led all scorers with 28 points for the night for Montgomery Central. Ella Harp ended up with 13 points.

Fort Campbell drops to 2-6 with the loss. The Lady Falcons will host Heritage Christian Friday night.
