The Logan County Cougars crashed the Todd County Central Rebels Homecoming party Friday night. The Cougars stayed unbeaten in 13th District play with a 74-40 win over the Rebels for their 5th straight win of the season and the second straight win in the series.
The Cougars blew open a competitive game with a big third quarter, turning a 36-22 lead into a 56-28 margin at the end of the quarter. Samson Hightower played a big part in the run to open up the lead. Hightower finished the quarter with 9 points.
Logan County continued to pull away in the 4th quarter, bringing the running clock into play with just over six minutes left in the game at 65-30.

The Cougars appear to be finding their stride at a good time. After starting off the year 2-7, Logan County has now improved to 7-7 and now hosts Franklin-Simpson in a big district matchup next Friday night.
Sophomore John Ross Cardwell, who was leading the team in scoring at 8.3 points per game coming into the night, continues to make strides for the Rebels. Cardwell led the team in scoring with 15 points.
Brett Harris added 6 points. Sophomore Jayden Glass finished with 5 points for Todd County Central.

Logan County was led by Samson Hightower with 18 points. Jaxon Tichenor hit for 16 points. Nicholas Thomas was the third Cougar to hit double figures with 10.
Todd County Central falls to 1-17 with the loss, which was the Rebels’ 11th straight. The Rebels are set to get back to action Tuesday night when they host Edmonson County.
