The UK Athletics sports scene in Lexington this weekend has more than one Kentucky-Alabama matchup to offer.
On Friday night, No. 8 Kentucky Gymnastics hosted No. 3 Alabama at Historic Memorial Coliseum where they were able to pull off the upset, 197.300-196.100.
En route to their season’s best score, the Wildcats outscored Alabama in every event except Vault where they were edged out by .05.
Kentucky improves to 3-1 on the season and picks up a win in their first SEC contest of the year. They’ll next travel to Missouri next Sunday for their first true road appearance of their schedule.
