A pair of losses against Indiana competition Saturday for the Christian County Colonels. The Colonels traveled to Evansville to take part in the Banterra Bank Warrior Classic hosted by Harrison High School.

Quick starts to each half for Reitz told the story for the Colonels in their first game of the day. Behind a hot start from Lowell Tinsley and Jayce Mitchell, the Panthers jumped out to a 23-8 lead after the opening quarter.

The Colonels battled fairly even with Reitz in the second quarter but could not cut into the lead. The Panthers led at the break 41-24.

Another hot start to open the second half essentially settled the issue. Reitz pushed the lead out to 64-35 heading into the final quarter.

Reitz then rode it out to the final 82-46 margin to close out the game.

Christian County got 12 points from Zyon Wharton. Kam Williams also hit double figures with 10. NaDarien Rowe added 8 points for the Colonels.

Lavell Tinsley was the leading scorer for Reitz with 18 points. Jayce Mitchell finished with 15 points for the Panthers.

The Colonels had struggles on offense in their second game of the day Saturday. The Central Bears held Christian County to single digits in three of the four quarters on their way to a 57-34 win.

Christian County, despite the issues trying to find points in the first half, was still in the game at the break thanks to a strong defensive effort that held Central to just 23 points as the Bears were up 23-14 at the half.

Central would find enough offense to slowly pull away over the final 16 minutes of the game, outscoring the Colonels by seven points in the third and again in the fourth quarter to take the 23- point win.

Kam Williams led Christian County with 10 points. Rahsean Stevenson added 6 points while Darren Bigbee scored 5.

With the pair of losses for the day, Christian County drops to 4-14 for the season. The Colonels are set to be back on the court Friday night at home against the Hopkinsville Tigers.
