
Brothers Cooper Collins and Carson Collins are two of four Lyon County players averaging in double figures.
It could be a run and gun kind of game Thursday morning when Lyon County and Martin County tipoff the boys 2025 All A Classic state tournament at the Owensboro Sportscenter. Both teams are putting up points at a good clip and the air could be filled with shots from behind the 3-point line.
The Cardinals feature one of the state’s top ten scorers in Parker Watts. As of Sunday, the Martin County senior was averaging 28.1 points per game.
Two other players are averaging in double figures. Senior Peyton Davis is scoring at 16.4 points a game while freshman Bryson Dials is averaging 14.6 points.
As a team, Martin County averages 78.5 points while giving up 60.3 points a game.
Going into Friday night’s win over Trigg County, the Lyons were being led by Bray Kirk at 21.6 points a game. Nolan Coffman was at 17.6. Cooper Collins was at 10.7 while his brother Carson was at 10.4.
Lyon County is averaging 78.0 points while giving up 60.2 per game.
Martin County likes to shoot the deep ball. The Cardinals are averaging 10 made three-pointers per game. They have made 140 of 430 3-point attempts for 32.6 percent. That also averages out to nearly 31 3-point attempts per contest.

Peyton Davis is the Cardinals’ best long range shooter at 40 of 83 for 48.2 percent. Bryson Dials has made 33 and Parker Watts 31.
With the stats from the Trigg win on Friday not yet submitted to the KHSAA, the Lyons have made 86 of 284 for 30.3 percent from behind the arc. The Lyons are averaging shooting 21 threes per game.
If averages for the two teams hold up, you could see more than 50 3-pointers launched during the game.
Cooper Collins leads the Lyons with 26 made threes and Nolan Coffman has 22.
Martin County is a solid free throw shooting team at 71.7 percent. The Cardinals are led by Peyton Davis at 77.8 percent and Parker Watts at 75.8 percent.
At the line, the Lyons are shooting 59.1 percent. Cooper Collins is at 87.5 percent, Nolan Coffman 72.9 percent, and Carson Collins 71.4 percent.
The Cardinals average 38.3 rebounds a game led by Brayden Estep at 10.3 and Parker Watts at 7.4.
Lyon County is pulling down 42.6 rebounds per game. The Lyons’ leading rebounded is Nolan Coffman at 10.1 boards a game.
Martin County is 14-2 heading into a scheduled Monday night home game against Magoffin County.
The Lyons are 10-4 going into Monday night’s game against Graves County. The Lyons won their first five, lost four, and now have won five straight again. In the four losses, the Lyons had fourth quarter leads in three and saw them slip away.
